Why Board Game Designing

Do you enjoy playing board games?

Have you ever wondered what goes into making your favourite board game?

Does solving and creating things excite you?

 

If the answer to these questions is a ‘yes’, here is a chance for you to take up a new challenge and create an exciting board game by learning the process and collaborating with co-enthusiasts.

The process of creating a brand new board game will help build skills such as planning, designing, writing, collaborating and prototyping.

Who is this course for?

This Immersive offering is for you: 

  • if you love playing board games 

  • if you are curious about how board games are made

  • if you are excited to learn the process of designing and creating your own board game

  • if you love solving problems and creating new things

 

Join us if you would like to be a board game designer and are excited to meet more young designers from around the country!

This course is a part of the Immersive offerings designed to enable young learners to experience choice-based learning and deep dive into an interest area. 

Schedule

The sessions will take place at 6:30 pm IST (Delhi).

Each session will last for 90 minutes and take place via Zoom.​

Session 1 - 20th Apr, Tuesday

Session 2 - 22nd Apr, Thursday 

Session 3 - 27th Apr, Tuesday

Session 4 - 29th Apr, Thursday 

Session 5 - 4th May, Tuesday 

Session 6 - 6th May, Thursday

Session 7 - 11th May, Tuesday

Session 8 - 13th May, Thursday 

Cost

We offer our courses at 4 price bands. We invite you to pay whatever works best for you. 

 

The lower bands (Band A and B) are subsidised to ensure that the money does not deter anyone from access to learning. Band C and D enable us to sustain this model and support scholarship participants.

 

  • Band A: scholarships for children who are unable to pay

  • Band B: INR 3000

  • Band C: INR 6000 

  • Band D: INR 8000 

 

We offer upto 100% scholarships on a need-basis.

We do not want money to deter anyone from joining our courses

Meet the Facilitator

Kritika Matolia

​

Kritika is an educator and an environmentalist. She has pursued her Master's degree in Social Work and has taught with Teach for India. She also has a rich freelancing and volunteering experience in the ed-sector from content development to digital content development for the State Board of Maharashtra. She is a firm believer in the concept of learning by doing. Currently, she runs a project with children from a disadvantaged community in Mumbai to provide them an experiential learning space and opportunity to develop essential skills through interest-based learning. She loves to work on intersection of math and art and want to provide every child with an opportunity to grow into their best selves. 

 

She follows a zero-waste lifestyle. In her free time, she loves to sketch, make zero-waste home essentials, play board games, solve puzzles, learn new things, listen to podcasts, read and watch movies.
